Organized as a “last minute” addition to the past week’s jam-packed Canopy Club lineup (think George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Post Historic, etc.), the Brooklyn-based, shoegaze-labeled Asobi Seksu (Japanese for “casual sex”) unabashedly rocked-out on the club’s Void Room stage to an intimately small crowd. Though near the end of their cross-U.S. tour, vocalist/keyboardist Yuki Chikudate and her three male counterparts didn’t show any signs of waning or tiredness.
