Ava Luna, Santah & Jared Bartman : Preview WPGU Staff March 8, 2012 Previews, Shows Canopy Club is playing host to a trifecta of amazing musical experiences tonight. Like, literally this line-up is incredible. I don’t doubt that I’ll see you there. … but in case you need more convincing: The opening act, Ava Luna, has graced Canopy Club before. Let me say, this Brooklyn-based band is mind blowing. Their style of music has something for everyone. It has elements of hazy chill wave, post-punk, the standard indie scene (of course) and even soulful R & B. Essentially, everyone will not only enjoy their music, but also fall in love with their sound and easy-going presence. To be completely honest, Jared Bartman is someone I was not familiar with until doing some research for this article. He has a raw and gritty style, slightly reminiscent of The Black Keys. He’s kinda bluesy and kinda indie, and your ears are bound to be pleased upon hearing this guy. Just ten minutes of listening to some clips and I was hooked! And, of course, the stars of Santah are coming back to the place they began. After successfully touring and getting the C-U music scene some serious press coverage, these guys are going to put on a hell of a show. They’ve played with the likes of The Hush Sound and traversed all across the country, so take the time to come see these talented individuals right in their element. As a performer, there’s nothing quite as great as a familiar venue filled with friendly faces; these guys are bound to enjoy us as much as we enjoy them. All in all, tonight Canopy Club is gonna be crazy and wonderful. Doors open at 10, tickets are $12 at the door and the show is 18+. With three acts that are all very different, you’ll be exposed to a little bit of everything. Missing this show would be absolutely inexcusable. So I’ll see ya there! 😉 Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
