Curb Service plays Cowboy Monkey

Lorenzo Goetz was a Rock staple of the CU community until their very recent break-up. Founder and front man Larry Gates hit the ground running with his new project, Curb Service. The quick release,Little Red Recovery Room, reestablished him as a force in local music. Gates says of his recent musical dynamics: “After LG split I still had the itch to move forward creatively. I started on the record about 2 months after our last show. It was sooner than I expected, but in retrospect I’m really not surprised by that sort of restlessness. Most of us do this stuff because we’d go crazy if we didn’t.”
It is only fitting Curb Service will be playing the returning venue Cowboy Monkey this Thursday. Curb Service is psyched to be a part of the Champaign hot spot. “I’m really excited that the Monkey is starting to ease back into live music.” Gates will be playing a set as Curb Service and then making the transition to his spinning alter ego DJ Legtwo. “Expect an energetic performance with plenty of excuses to both twist and shout. No wardrobe changes planned for the DJ set, but I’m pretty anxious to show off my newest records.” Check out Larry Gates performing as Curb Service and DJ Legtwo at the Cowboy Monkey May 29!
