Great Moments of The Grammys

From the get-go everyone knew it was Adele’s night. No one was surprised as she swept every category she was nominated for. Everyone waited in anticipation for Adele to take the stage and further amaze the world with that wonderful voice. She silenced her doubters with a simple, yet beautiful, performance.

Another big face of the Grammys this year was Dave Grohl.  Not only did the Foo Fighters win 5 awards, including Best Rock Album, Performance and Song, but they delivered two great performances including one with Deadmau5 for the dance music showcase.

Bon Iver winning Best New Artist took many alternative fans by surprise, not because he didn’t deserve the award, but because they have already been listening to the band for a few years. Justin Vernon, who has been quoted for being very anti-Grammys, delivered a phenomenal acceptance speech. “… It’s hard to accept because when I started to make songs, I did it for the inherent reward of making songs…”

At the very end of the night, it was Paul McCartney who stole the show. The fact that Sir Paul can still be rocking that hard at the age of 69 should give us all hope. A man whose career has spanned over 50 years showed that he is not about to let go his inspirational hold on modern music. His performance ended with pseudo jam sessions with other great guitarists like Bruce Springsteen, Dave Grohl and Joe Walsh.
