Down on the Farm in Manchester, Tennessee, there’s this little place and festival called Bonnaroo. The notorious “hippie fest” attracts tens of thousands each June. This year’s festival lineup was released in a more unorthodox manner, unveiling each name…one…by…one. Patience is a virtue, isn’t it? Every six minutes or so since Noon CST, each band trickled out via Bonnaroo’s Myspace and Twitter accounts (gotta love social networking sites) to complete the initial bill for the fest.
The lineup includes a variety of types of acts (as it does most every year), ranging from The Flaming Lips performing Pink Floyd’s famous Dark Side of the Moon to hip-hop legend Jay-Z, from the newly Grammy-spoiled Kings of Leon to Creedence Clearwater Revival ringleader John Fogerty, and let’s not forget about Stevie Wonder. Also a continuing trend of the festival is jam bands, because they know you still love them. Dave Matthews Band will follow up Phish from last year. The festival takes place on June 10th through the 13th, so pick up your tickets over at bonnaroo.com and take the trek down to camp this summer. Don’t forget your sunscreen.
