Studying abroad in Belgium last semester was the best experience of my life in so many different ways – but living in Belgium put me behind on the music being released stateside, and coming back I felt as if I had a lot to make up for and catch up on. In throwing myself back into music I missed out on, I’ve tried to find some of the best songs for anybody who’s taken a temporary music hiatus.
1. “Trying So Hard Not to Know” – Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats
2. “Oh My Dear” and “I Don’t Mind” – The Head and the Heart
3. “Higher” – Carly Rae Jepsen
4. “These Words” – The Lemon Twigs
5. “HandClap” – Fitz and the Tantrums
6. “22 (Over Soon)” – Bon Iver
7. “Solemn Oath” – Band of Horses
8. “Umpqua Rushing” – Blind Pilot
9. “Parachute” – Kaiser Chiefs
10. “Dreams Come True” – Brandon Flowers
11. “The Scene Between” – The Go! Team
12. “Trailer” – Mudcrutch
