Stress Mixer!

It’s funny how during this time of the year, a lot of stress comes with a time that should be relaxing.  It’s the holidays. It’s the end of the world*. You’re stressed, I’m stressed. Let’s listen to a specifically crafted playlist and pretend like none of this is happening.

1 – Stress – Justice

I’m not entirely sure how Justice did this, but they managed to take how my brain has felt for the past few weeks and turn it into a bumpin’ electronic track. Ils me comprennent…

2 – Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe – Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar’s “good kid, m.A.A.d city” may possibly be my favorite album of the year (spoiler alert: it is), and this song is undoubtedly one of my favorites. The beat and vibe are so chill and relaxing that it practically pulls on your head to make you bob along. And congratulations to Kendrick on starting the coolest phrase of the year.

3 – Sleepyhead – Passion Pit

If you know one thing about me (and if you don’t, you’re about to), you know that I would grow a left nut to sell for anything involving Passion Pit. “Sleepyhead” is obviously a classic and if you’ve been up for 48 hours writing that research paper you forgot about, here’s to you.

4 – Night Moves – Bob Seger

Surprise, I’m actually a 55 year old man. For whatever reason, whenever I’m feeling stressed out, sad, or as misunderstood as P!nk circa whenever she decided to include a stupid exclamation point in her name, I listen to this song and usually cry. That was an intimate fact. You officially know more about me than you ever cared to.

5 – Peace of Mind – Boston

…And you thought I was joking about being a 55 year old man. Boston keeps it straight up real here and you can’t NOT adhere to them. Strive for that peace of mind, man.

6 – Relax – Das Racist

These guys recently broke up and as I write this, there is a heavenly host of angels weeping. So maybe you’re stressed out about the breakup, but nothing says “relax” more than a song that literally repeats the word “relax” over and over and over…

7 – 99 Problems – Jay-Z

If a bitch is actually one of your problems, then I’m sorry. Disregard this one.

8 – Dancing On My Own – Robyn

Guys, Robyn’s ex-boyfriend is just making out with his new girlfriend in front of her at da club and she keeps dancing. She’s so strong. But really, sometimes all you need to de-stress is dance really hard wherever you are. Who cares if you’re dancing with yourself? If Robyn does it, then it’s cool.

9 – Pressure – Rusko

If Robyn didn’t inspire you to dance, here you go. Get rid of the pressure, dance it out.

10 – The Fire – The Roots (Feat. John Legend)

Probably the most inspiring song on this list and that is 100% intentional. Stress is no match for us!

*It’s not, but the joke door opened itself and I walked through it. Whatever.
