Spoon have announced their latest LP, Gimme Fiction, is finished and will be released May 10 via Merge Records.

Stephen Malkmus’s third post-Pavement project entitled Face the Truth, will be hitting shelves May 24 via Matador.

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, occurring June 10-12 in Manchester, Tenn., has announced a line-up which includes Modest Mouse, Secret Machines, M. Ward, Mars Volta, My Morning Jacket, Joanna Newsom, Trey Anastasio, Rilo Kiley, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dave Mathews Band, Bela Fleck, Widespread Panic, John Prine, Allison Krauss and Union Station, Earl Scrugggs and Friends, Toots and the Maytals, and The Allman Brothers Band. Whew!

What the Hell? Moment of the Week
Former lead singer of The Libertines and full-time subject of pity, Pete Doherty, was recently arrested, again, for assaulting a documentary filmmaker, after he, reportedly, refused to give Doherty a few grand to score with. The problem with this picture is: don’t you have to put out at least one solid album before you get your membership in the “rock and roll junkie genius club?” A rose by any other name will still shoot up in the bathroom right before he goes on stage.
