There’s two big shows in CU tonight.

After bringing some Beck-tastic lovin’ to our ears, Elsinore will return to headline at the Highdive with a handful of new material. Catchy new songs like “The General” and “Landlocked” will be sure to light up the spot along with old staples. Preceding them with their pop-infused take on bluegrass music is the Memphis quintet Giant Bear, whose last show was captivating but underpopulated, so get out there and show some love. Opening act The Johns will begin at 9:45pm, and tickets are $7.
Meanwhile, 56 Hope Road will be kicking out the jams at the Canopy along with progressive rock group and fellow Chicagoans The Hue. Their instrumental prowess and heavy sound have given them much acclaim, including high praise from Brendan Bayliss of Umphrey’s McGee. Headlined by 56’s funk-driven rock, it will whet the appetite of any lover of jam music. Tickets are $6, and the show starts at 9pm.
