Weekly Wrap-Up : March 19-23

Are you in town for spring break? Hey, me too! Don’t think that just cause your friends went home, break will be boring. We can make this a crazy week for C-U. (A.k.a. Me and the … five other students still here?)

Monday, March 19: Okay, so … it looks like we have Monday to relax. But, I mean, we all want some downtime anyway!

Tuesday, March 20: Cowboy Monkey has their weekly open mic night. Since the crowd is bound to be a little thinner than usual, I’d say today is a great day for any open mic rookie to start. Plus, I’m sure the crowd will welcome you with open arms–to all my rookies and veterans.
If you want a more chill day, Krannert Art Museum is kicking off a lot of really exciting exhibits today. Getting in is absolutely free and, once you are in, you can soak up some abstract art, spiritual pieces from Jerusalem and other beautiful pieces.

Wednesday, March 21: Another rest day! But after all that art gallery walking yesterday, we’re all pretty tired, right? Nap day!

Thursday, March 22: Here’s where things start to pick up the pace a bit. Brooklyn-based duo, Boom Chick, is hitting up the Canopy Club tonight. Their alternative rock and blues fusion is sure to keep you pleased, especially with $8 tickets. Doors open at nine.
At Cowboy Monkey, psychedelic rock group, DeathTram, is playing. These local guys come with two opening acts and $5 tickets. Sounds like a good deal to me! 🙂

Friday, March 23: AD/HD, and AC/DC cover band, is gracing the stage at Canopy Club tonight. Calling all AC/DC fans! These guys will be playing both their older and newer hits. Doors open at 8.
Cowboy Monkey offers you yet another option this evening, as well. Three bands are, once again, being offered to you for a measly $5 fee. Decadents, Neoga Blacksmith and Huck Fate are playing here tonight. Decadents are a gritty, powerful rock band with some pretty intense riffs. (I discovered this information thanks to their website!) This would definitely be a killer way to bid adieu to spring break.
