Andrew Bird Announces Album and Tour

It has been awhile since we heard from our neighbor to the north, Andrew Bird. He has toured sporadically since his 2009 release Noble Beast but has been relatively quiet since then. Yesterday, he announced on his website the release of a new full-length album Break it Yourself out March 6th on Mom+Pop. Along with the album announcement he announced a full US tour with stops in STL (3/22 at The Pageant) and Chicago (5/12- The day after finals are done at the Auditorium Theatre). Even better news for people planning on going to any of these concerts-if you buy tickets you will receive a free digital copy of Break it Yourself along with two live EPs as a nice bonus. 2012 is going to be a big year for Bird fans. For full list of tour stops and ticket information (on presale now) visit Andrew Bird’s website.

Side note- If you have not heard, Andrew Bird also wrote the music for the indie film Norman. The soundtrack for that is already out and features a few new Bird songs for diehard fans. For more information on the film check out the official website.
