Pitchfork 2016 Playlist

Here’s your go-to playlist for Pitchfork Music Festival 2016! I could have made it much longer, but I figured 45 songs would give you a good idea of everything you’re going to hear this year. I started off with some jams from Anderson Paak, BJ the Chicago Kid featuring another Chi-town native, Chance the Rapper, and Sufjan Stevens’ demo of “Chicago”. The playlist goes on to draw you in to the vibe of #P4kFest, mixing in some of the chiller bands you should be sure to check out. About halfway through, the tone shifts to a more rock n’ roll side of the festival. Hometown homies Twin Peaks were featured on WPGU in March when they played The Accord and told us about their latest album, “Down in Heaven” released earlier this May. Make sure you check them out on Friday of the fest! After that, I lightened up the playlist with some of the songs you’ll definitely be dancing to at Union Park like Carly Rae Jepson, Neon Indian, and the ever-so-smooth Miguel and Jeremih. I ended the playlist with Mick Jenkins’ “Jazz”, a reminiscent voice like Tyler the Creator with fast-paced lyrics which would absolutely impress your friends if you have them memorized by July. Every artist at Pitchfork 2016 is worth checking out and it’s sure to be a fantastic time at Union Park! Stay tuned to WPGU 1071 to win your passes, but make sure you don’t miss out and get your tickets here: https://www.ticketfly.com/venue/9881-union-park/?utm_source=Promo5&utm_medium=General
