I love a good and weird performance artist as much as the next gal, but giving birth…? Really?
Yesterday a Brooklyn-based performance artist named Marni Kotak gave birth in a NYC art gallery in front of a live 20-person audience. She said that she feels giving birth is “the highest form of art” and she wanted to show “this amazing life performance that … is essentially hidden from public view.”
Props to Kotak for pushing artistic boundaries but, come on… This woman is 36 years old. I’m having nightmares about this art exhibition already.
Couldn’t the audience members have gone to the nearest hospital to be just as grossed out?
