What We’re Into

Malajube

Malajube changes musical direction like most people change underwear (hopefully). With the energy and charisma of seasoned veterans, this Montreal-based act is currently working on the follow up to 2006’s Trompe l’Oeil. I dare you not to tap your feet at “Montreal -40 C,” even if most people won’t be able to understand the French Canadian dialect.

The Acorn

Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, The Acorn is a pleasantly surprising act. Tracks such as “Feral Chile” and “Blankets” start out as simple, calming pieces. They’re something you would listen to while falling asleep. Like any restless night, however, they soon crescendo into lively, percussion-fueled celebrations. The Acorn is currently touring in support of Glory Hope Mountain, an album based around the story of songwriter Rolf Klausener’s mother and her immigration from Honduras to Montreal.
