WPGU Presents: Those Darlins Preview

The kickass Tennessee trio of Kelley, Nikki, and Jessi Darlin (and their drummer Linwood Regensburg) has been gaining momentum over the past few years years, and after their second album, Screws Get Loose, released last spring there is no doubt they are a force to be reckoned with. Those Darlins are notorious for their country-punk spirit, which they will be bringing to Champaign’s Highdive this Sunday, October 9th. You may have heard them in CU before, or in television shows such as True Blood. Either way, don’t miss the opportunity to experience the hootenanny live before they continue to tour their hearts out.

This show is also a treat because it is one of several the Darlins will be playing with PEELANDER-Z.  The self-dubbed “Japanese Action Comic Punk Band” is known for their bright Japanese animation-inspired costumes and energetic audience participation. If three hot Darlins aren’t enough to get you to the Highdive, maybe some real-life anime experience is.

Local band The Dirty Feathers, who recently rocked the Pygmalion Music Festival, will be gracing the Highdive as well! Their raving Pygmalion performance coincided with the release of their debut album, Midnight Snakes. Fresh off of that adrenaline they are sure to impress.

The show is 19 and up, so leave your youngins at home and come out to the Highdive Sunday. The show starts at 7:30 pm, and admission is $12; a steal to see these three wildly talented bands.
