WPGU Presents: The Dirty Feathers: Preview

They may not be covered in rhinestones and wearing eyeliner like at The Great Cover Up (although there’s no telling), but the Dirty Feathers are gracing Champaign with their music once again. Saturday, February 11th at 8 P.M. at Cowboy Monkey. Chicago garage rockers (and siblings), White Mystery, are accompanying the Feathers. Described as “fraggle rock” puppets by Pitchfork, the duo is sure to provide a killer atmosphere on Saturday’s show.
Not only is there talent from out-of-towners, but also local sound that is sure to impress. Midstress’ rocking both Friday and Saturday nights downtown; and, Folded Bones—whose bluesy tunes helped out at WPGU’s Operation Santa benefit show this December—will undoubtedly bring the heat. Dirty Feathers, who need no introduction, are expected to, as always, make you sing a little, make you smile a lot, and definitely make you dance all night.
$5 is a steal for a show with kickassness such as this. As excited as I am for this show, I’m not the only one. Dirty Feathers’ drummer James Treichler mentioned, “We’re excited to host a band as accomplished and badass as White Mystery, and to finally share the stage with our friends in Midstress and Folded Bones”.
