Thursday, Thursday, Thursday!

Tonight, my friends, is a great night for the music scene. Behold, a veritable frenzy of bands playing all on the same square of the calendar. First off, there is a free show at Krannert Art Museum (Fourth and Peabody) featuring three bands that can perk anybody’s interest in local music. Shipwreck and The Beauty Shop, who made appearances at Pygmalion 2007, will perform in addition to Tall Tale.
Over at The Highdive, The Great Cover Up wraps up. Reds, Mad Mardigan and Roberta Sparrow are the first three bands to play, followed by metal act JigGsaw. Two more Pygmalion veterans, Darling Disarm and elsinore, close out the night. The Great Cover Up has been a Champaign-Urbana tradition for many years, and it’s a great way to get to know a different side of your favorite local bands.
Transportation: After the show at Krannert Art Museum, walk north to Fourth and Gregory to hop on the 100 Yellow North, which will take you into downtown Champaign. Get off at Walnut and University, and take the short walk to scenic Neil St. to The Highdive for The Great Cover Up.
