“Bigger Than Lifesize” – The Sugar Prophets

The Sugar Prophets combine a group of veteran local musicians A.J. “Apple Jack” Williams, Al Chapman, and Bob Weber, with veteran musician David “Lucky” Wiser, via Arkansas, and relative newcomer Josh Spence to create that sweet, sweet, sound of the blues. “Bigger Than Lifesize” is The Sugar Prophets’ first original track. It was recorded October 4th at Joe Asselin’s Living Room Studio, and is on the upcoming album ‘The Sugar Prophets – Live at Joe’s’.

The Sugar Prophets are an up and coming blues band based out of Champaign, IL, and play on a regular basis in and around CU. They also host a bi-weekly “Open Blues Jam” at Cowboy Monkey, and have played an impressive 25 shows in just thier first 4 months together as a band. Armed with a set list that includes songs from Legendary Artists like B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix, combined with their own original material, they set out to spread thier own sweet sounds of the blues. The Sugar Prophets deliver a high energy performance that is sure to get you up out of your seat and on the dance floor!

They will be hosting the next Open Blues Jam Thursday, Nov. 12 at Cowboy Monkey, and will be playing this Saturday, Nov. 14th at Fireside(formerly Rock’s) on Springfield Ave. in Champaign.
